Central Door

The Central door comprises the city of Winnipeg within the province of Manitoba, the traditional gathering place of the Dene, Ojibwe, Cree, Métis, Sioux, Mandan, and Assiniboine people. IYMP got its start in the central province as the Rec and Read Mentorship program in Winnipeg.

News from the Central Door

  • Programming for the 2023 – 2024 school year is going great! Our staff are working with our high school volunteers to get them ready to run games and activities for elementary students starting in February 2024. 
  • Starting in March 2024, we will begin hiring for our high school student positions for our summer program. Stay tuned!
